It is written in the Prophets, “And they will all be taught by God.” Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me--“
The Bible is the Word of God given to us by God so that we may learn and know Him. Today, you can read The Bible. You can listen to It being read on tape, CD, TV, computer or live. You can see It acted out on TV, movies, internet, or live. And there are entire bookstores full of works to help you interpret and dissect The Bible. However, if you were illiterate and lived a thousand years ago, your options were much more limited. There was the local minister, and there was art, which was mostly found on the walls of the cathedral. The paintings, mosaics, sculptures, and stained glass that you see in churches around the world were created in large part as teaching tools. Some art is so beautiful that it can actually distract the viewer from its message. St Chapelle’s in Paris has so much stained glass that on a sunny day, it’s like being inside a kaleidoscope.
