This jumped out at me:
Genesis 21: 5-7
Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.  And Sarah said, "God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh over me."
And she said, "Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age."

My take:
God promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations, but he was without a single descendant until a very old age.  Abraham never lost faith that God would fulfill that promise, although he did get impatient.  God never discussed timing with Abraham.  Our expectations of time are not God's.  What expectations do we have in our own lives that we are trying to fulfill in our own timing rather than trusting in God to fulfill in His time?
