Jer 3:15-17 "'And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding. And when you have multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, declares the Lord, they shall no more say, "The ark of the covenant of the Lord." It shall not come to mind or be remembered or missed; it shall not be made again. At that time Jerusalem shall be called the throne of the Lord, and all nations shall gather to it, to the presence of the Lord in Jerusalem, and they shall no more stubbornly follow their own evil heart. Don's Take: The ark of the covenant was God's presence among his people. When His people turned their backs on God, they were separated from His presence. The ark will never be found by the physical efforts of man (not even Indiana Jones). The separation between God and Man was bridged when God came to us in Jesus. After the resurrection, Jesus asked Peter, "Do you love Me? ,,, feed my sheep". And to all disciples, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." After receiving these instructions from Jesus, the disciples waited in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit. If we are to be disciples that make disciples we must be fed knowledge and understanding as well as feed it to others and let God's presence be in us.
