Options for a Retreat
Find a Deserted Place

Jesus spent 40 days in the desert before beginning his ministry. In first century Galilee, the Negev Desert provided a place of solitude away from those who knew him, and those that would come to know him. Even though Jesus' mission was to accumulate followers and bring his message to the whole world, he began by seeking solitude in the desert.
Deserted places need not be Desert

At times during his ministry, Jesus would retreat to the mountains or to the far side of the Sea of Galilee. Even Jesus was well served by a get away in order to recharge.
Or maybe... A Desserted Place

Before you can "re-charge" you're going to need to "de-charge". Being alone in the desert would likely give you a whole new set of worries and problems to deal with. Perhaps, a cruise or an all-inclusive resort would be a better choice. The idea here is to get away from daily routines and problems. We're all a little different. For some of us, the best way to "de-charge" is to tackle bigger problems: climb a mountain, or survive in the desert. For others of us, being pampered and having our every need met is the best way to clear our minds and prepare to take on the world - again.
Fellowship
The purpose of a retreat is to draw away from the bad while drawing closer to the good. Get away from stress, routines, and bad influences while getting closer to God. We aim to stay on The Path or to find The Path; The Path following Jesus in fellowship with The Father through The Holy Spirit along with all Christ followers. You could find The Path alone (Jesus began alone in the desert). You could make drawing closer to your spouse or family a part of your recharging (As Jesus brought His Message to the world, he developed a close knit group of disciples). Or you could make your Get A'Way with all your friends and family.
