CRUISING
The fastest growing segment of the travel industry is cruising. There are good reasons why 20 million Americans take a cruise each year. A cruise can be a great “vacation”. It takes very little planning, yet delivers a full itinerary. You only unpack once, yet you visit multiple destinations. There are activities to suit everyone in your group, and there are food options for the pickiest to the most adventurous eaters. Popular destinations for a “vacation cruise” include: the Caribbean, Alaska, Mexico, and the Canary Islands. A cruise can also be a great way to “travel” to varied cultural, historical, and Christian destinations. If you want to see several destinations without wasting time traveling between them, while maintaining comfortable accommodations, and delicious cuisine throughout your journey, then a cruise may be just the Way. Great destinations for a “travel cruise” include: the Mediterranean, the Baltic, British Aisles, Panama Canal, and the Holy Lands. However, there are cruise ships all over the world. Basically, wherever there is an ocean or a river deep enough to support a boat, you can search for a cruise or see Way Anchor's Recommended Cruises or Contact Us and we'll find you the perfect cruise.

TOURING
For places in the world that ships can’t reach, there are tours. For people that would rather not be on a boat, there are tours. Tours give you the advantages of travelling with a group, with a quality planned itinerary, and accommodations to fit your comfort level. Most tours are going to provide you with lodging, ground transportation, daily breakfast, some group dinners, and most importantly the essential, must-see sight-seeing. Generally, you will have door to door transportation from your hotel to the must-see site, skip-the-line entry, admission fee included, and a guided tour. You will spend more time seeing what you came to see, and less time standing in line and trying to find your way around. Thus, you will have more free time to do as you like and absorb the culture. Tour itineraries are often chosen around a theme which you can determine from the title of the tour such as “Ancient Italy” or “Delicious Italy” or “Cathedrals of Italy” or a more generic “7 days in Italy”. Our Resources page has detailed information on nearly every destination in the world. There are 1000's of tours available world-wide. If you want to research more about the myriad tour options around the world you can search for a tour or We have done the research for you... We have scoured through scores of tours to find those best suited to travelers who want to travel in the Way Anchor Way see Featured Tours or Tell us your preferences and we'll find you the perfect tour.

VACATION PACKAGES
Another travel trend that is gaining popularity is bundling. You can combine transportation, lodging, and activities together for a good value. For a week long get away to one or maybe two cities, this is a good option for 1 to 100 people. A good basic itinerary would be to arrive on Monday; spend 3 days (Tue-Thur) seeing the major sites with a city pass, a pass that includes admission to all the major sites with skip-the-line admission to the most popular ones, and transportation on city busses and trains; take an all-day side trip on Friday; then on Saturday, relax in the city, stroll through the parks, and enjoy the art and architecture before having a farewell dinner (Break Bread and Share Wine) with the other members of your party; Sunday, attend an English speaking local church or go adventurous and attend a local speaking local church before making your way to the airport to return home. You can research destinations or Search for Vacations or Contact Us and we'll set you up with the perfect get-a-Way

Your Group
You can travel whichever itinerary you choose, for as long as you like, on whichever dates you choose, in your chosen budget category, and with whomever you choose when you book a Custom Group trip. When you put together a group of your own, say… your church group, the sharing experience is maximized. The joy of the group experience begins when the members of the group decide to commit to making the journey. The shared experience starts with the pre-trip parties(meetings), greatly enhances the trip, and then lasts forever as memories every time you “Break Bread and Share Wine” together of the common experience you have together.

Specials
We promote traveling as a Christian, however, most of the products we offer are not specifically labeled as “Faith-based” or “Christian” travel. We do recommend that you consider these “Faith-based” products, but we also recommend that you practice your faith while traveling in any capacity. When we contemplate something, we do so through the only lens we have… our own. The lens by which we see the world is a unique one, formed from our education and life experiences. The only way to see and understand the world better is to widen the angle on our lens through additional learning and experiences. Sharing is important. Listening to other’s perspectives, learning about and interacting in other cultures, and experiencing life with others will widen the angle on your lens.
The ability to laser focus may be good for business or sports, but for a world perspective… not so much. Imagine if you took a photo of yourself with your friends at the Grand Canyon, but you zoomed in until it was just your face filling the screen. Years later when you look at the photo, you may like how young you look in the photo, but where you were and who you shared the experience with are lost. Travel is about learning, experiences, sharing, and widening the angle on our lenses. Unless… maybe, you need a vacation. A vacation is different. A vacation is for when you want to get away from routine, relax, and download. I would recommend the closest beach or cruise. To keep with the analogy, a vacation is not about widening the angle of our lens, it’s more like cleaning the lens so that we can return to our routines with a clearer perspective.
WHERE DO CHRISTIANS TRAVEL?
Christians travel to: the places where Jesus traveled, which includes Israel, Jordan, and Egypt; the places where the Apostle Paul traveled, which includes Greece, Turkey, Malta, Macedonia, Cyprus, and Italy; the places where the other apostles traveled or may have traveled which includes Spain, France, UK, India, Ethiopia and China; the places where notable leaders have made an impact which includes Ireland (Patrick), Germany (Luther), Switzerland (Calvin), and Poland (John Paul II); and to all the other places named in the Bible (Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth)
God created the entire world, so every location in the world holds something of interest to the Christian traveler. That being said, it is surprising how even the most secular traveler ends up with Christian sites on their “bucket list”. Throughout Europe, as well as other parts of the world, the must-see sites in almost every port-of-call or tour-stop city includes Christian buildings and sites. For most of the last two millennium there was not a separation of church and state, and the history of Europe and the history of the Church is much the same thing. Part of history, are the stories of great leaders: the Holy Roman Emperors (Justinian, Charlemagne), The Kings of France and England (Henry VIII, James I, Napoleon, the Louis’s), Popes (all of them), Catholic saints (Francis, Dominic, Benedict, Ignatius), Protestant reformers (Luther, Calvin, Hus). All these people and many more impacted the history of Europe, the history of the Church, and the history of the world. People impacted the Church, and the Church impacted people. Throughout the history of the Church, the majority of art has been created with a Christian purpose and the greatest architectural achievements have been in the construction of Church buildings. Inspiration comes from more than just bricks and canvas though. Christian travelers discover much more, sometimes in unexpected places. The oldest or earliest evidence of the Church can be found in the locations where the apostles first spread The Word. Jesus and the apostles first preached about Jesus in Jewish synagogues. Paul preached to gentiles, often in the shadow of pagan monuments. The earliest Church meetings didn’t take place in grand churches, but in people’s homes and in secluded places. Many of the first purpose-built churches were constructed over pagan temples. There’s even a possibility that a church teaching the ministry of Jesus existed in India before Jesus began his ministry.
Most of the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, took place in what is now the country of Israel. Christian travelers want to see for themselves the sites that correspond to the Bible stories that they know so well. Once having seen a location, you now have the illustrations for the movie that will play out in your mind when you read the story again. For some, walking on the physical path where Jesus walked provides the inspiration to walk on the spiritual path with Jesus for their entire lives. Jesus is The Way.
